Powder day in Nyon
Although Monday saw the Portes du Soleil covered in rain clouds, Tuesday heralded in lower temperatures and when I awoke this morning the skies had cleared and there was a foot of fresh just waiting to be tracked.
I headed up the Pleney and rode the trees around the Charniaz chairlift which were tightly packed and gave a good indication of the new snow’s stability. All appeared well.
When the Chamossiere chairlift opened we headed over there and enjoyed fresh, safe lines down an un-pisted black run. Powder without the effort!! We rode the Chamossiere black for about two hours and then tired and happy rode down through Nyon and back home to Morzine. What a day! And with more snow forecast this weekend hopefully we’ll have another one soon.
